      Renardet is seeking for a Resident Engineer that will provide technical services for overall supervision of construction works of the harbour with breakwaters, quay wall, dredging works, reclamation, buildings, infrastructure, MEP, knowledge of conditions of contract. The Resident Engineer shall have at least 8 years in the managerial level including 5 years as Resident Engineer.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Carries out the tasks of supervision of construction works and other assigned duties in a diligent and effective manner, meeting deadlines and avoiding errors.
      • Shows initiative by suggesting to their superior alternative and/or innovative methods of executing the tasks assigned while demonstrating a proactive attitude.
      • Manages and organises in a high level all the Supervision site team and monitors construction works ensuring they are carried out in accordance with specifications.
      • Analyses contractual claims and variations and recommends them the Client for approval.
      • Takes ownership of client issues reported and therefore represents Clients to see problems through to resolution.
      • Liaises with stakeholders such as clients, designers, contractors and other local authorities for any technical, design or relevant queries as and when required.
      • Ensures strict compliance with Contract specifications and drawings and if required resolves all technical and design queries arising on site, liaising with the necessary stakeholders.
      • Ensures accuracy and completeness of project records. Reviews, monitors and reports progress of construction work.
      • Follows standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
      • Recommends any design changes as per the site condition.
      • Chairs monthly progress meetings/presentations, and attend regular progress and technical meetings at the site.
      • Conducts final review and approval of all shop drawings and material submittals in order to verify compliance or otherwise with design information and the specifications requirements.
      • Conducts monitoring of contractors’ Health and Safety plans, analysis and approvals of contractor’s programme of work and their claims and accordingly recommends them to the Client.
      • Prepares monthly progress reports and keeps records of customer/sub-contractors queries.
      • Implements and maintains Company’s policies and other quality and environment systems.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • REQUIRED SKILLS

      • Minimum Graduate (4 years) in Civil Engineering with minimum 15year experience in construction of harbor.
      • Experience in similar professional context (Minimum 10 years of construction supervision and management works on Marine structures in open seas) understanding of management and departmental procedures and legal policies, managing teams and similar projects relevant to Breakwater Construction, Jetty/Wharf/Quay wall works, Dredging and reclamation and Infrastructure Construction Works
      • Good knowledge of construction of embankments made out of rock material and rocks
      • Minimum 5 years worked as project manager or Resident Engineer on major projects either with Contractor or with consultant.
      • Knowledge and experience in quantity surveying and experience in building construction works
      • Good knowledge of Contract Administration, construction procedures and specifications and contract conditions & procedures
      • Knowledge in HSE requirement and management
      • Overall experience after graduation in construction and design field for at least 18 years.
      • Proficiency in English language (spoken and written).

      The project involves undertaking Construction and Design Review services of Fish Landing Centre in different areas of Dhofar Governorate. Mobilization of construction contractor is estimated to be 14 days initially while execution period is set to be 15 months maximum excluding maintenance period of 12 months.
