Renardet is seeking for a Resident Inspector who will ensure that construction meets local and national construction codes and ordinances, zoning regulations and contract specifications in the in construction works open sea marine structures, pre cast and insitu concrete works, surveying works, other civil engineering works related to buildings, drainage, electrical and mechanical, Road and pavements etc. and use their expertise to fulfil the company’s and client’s expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carries out the tasks assigned by designated Resident Engineer in a diligent and effective manner, meeting deadlines and avoiding errors.
• Shows initiative by suggesting to their superior alternative and/or innovative methods of executing the tasks assigned while demonstrating a proactive attitude.
• Reviews plans in order to ensure they meet construction codes, local ordinances, and zoning regulations and makes certain that construction works are carried out in accordance with all mentioned specifications.
• Inspects and monitors construction sites ensuring overall compliance.
• Inspects and tests construction material and other necessities.
• Uses metering devices and test equipment to perform necessary inspections and tests.
• Issues violation notices and stop-work orders until construction is compliant.
• Keeps daily logs, including photographs taken during the inspection and tests.
• Provides written feedback in the progress reports related to the findings.
• Takes ownership of client issues reported and sees problems through to resolution
• Implements and maintains Company’s policies and other quality and environment systems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Graduate in Civil Engineering with minimum 6 years in construction works open sea marine structures.
• Experience in similar professional context (Minimum 6 years of construction supervision and open sea Marine Structures like breakwaters, quay wall, dredging, reclamation etc. quarrying, stone grading and quality testing, Pre cast and in-Situ concrete works, laboratory and surveying works, other civil engineering works related to buildings, infrastructure & MEP, roads and pavements, quantity surveying, conditions of contract.
• Well-versed with specification and construction procedures.
• Overall 10 years of experience after graduation ensuring similar experience and qualification of the Resident Engineer.
• Proficiency in English language (spoken and written).

The project involves undertaking Construction and Design Review services of Fish Landing Centre in different areas of Dhofar Governorate. Mobilization of construction contractor is estimated to be 14 days initially while execution period is set to be 15 months maximum excluding maintenance period of 12 months.
