Project Location:

The project area is located Deem area in Al Amirat Wilayat, Muscat Governorate.

Objectives of the Project:

The objective of the creation of a storage reservoir at Deem in order to fulfill the PAEW’s security of water supply requirements by providing 48 hours storage related to production capacity and to meet the increasing potable water in Muscat Governorate from new sources planned to be developed in Muscat East.

According to the TOR, the Scope of Work is detailed as follows:

In order to meet the increasing demand in Muscat Governorate, Qurayat IWP Desalination Plant (by OPWP) and Wadi Dayqah Surface Water Treatment Plant (by PAEW) have been planned. The water will be transmitted to Deem & Amirat existing and future reservoirs as well as to other distribution reservoirs.

Deem future strategic reservoir is proposed to be constructed adjacent to the existing 23 ML Deem reservoir because it is located at a strategic site between Qurayat and Muscat.

The proposed scope of work is as follow:

• Data collection.
• Carry out detailed topo surveys and geotechnical investigations as necessary.
• Provide the Preliminary and Detailed Design for all the proposed civil, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation works.
• Detailed design of new RCC storage reservoir of 75 ML and associated works.
• Detailed design of the inlet and outlet pipelines, valves, instrumentation, controls and their connections with the existing pipelines.
• Integration with the existing source of water (Wadi Dayqah and Qurayat Tie-In Water Supply Systems).
• Integration with the existing SCADA System (Bawshar Central Control Room, Wadi Dayqah and Qurayat Tie-In local control).
• Detailed design of valve chambers.
• Design the compound wall, internal roads for the proposed extended area.
• Preparation of tender documents, tender analysis, evaluation of tenders, recommendations, contract documents, etc.
• Supervision of the proposed construction works.
