  • New Design Works and Construction Supervision for Fishery Harbour at Dithab, Al Wusta Governorate Project Awarded to Renardet S.A. & Partners Consulting Engineers LLC
  • Project Location: 

    The project is located in Dithab in the Governorate of Al Wusta (145 Km to south of Duqm toward Salalah).

    Objective of the Project:

    The principal objective of the master plan development programme is that Oman will have in place a modern fishery industry with the necessary fishing craft, fishery harbours/marfas/fish landing centres/idle-berthing facilities, fish processing and marketing, ice plants and cold storage facilities.

    To finalize the project and complete the tender document for all weather harbour for a life span of minimum 50 years, and to provide shelter to the users during extreme events such as cyclone (eg. Gonu and Phet), storm etc.

    The Scope of the Services comprises of:

    The Port design development shall include allowance for phased development which can be expanded as the need arises. The development shall be the full scale expansion/development of the existing fishery harbor. The Port is expected to extend facilities for:

    1. a) Developed Fishery Activities.
    2. b) ROP & Coast Guard all requirements.
    3. c) NAVY
    4. d) Tourism (including marina) and yatch if required.
    5. e) Fast passenger cum vehicle ferry.
    6. f) MOTC/Commercial.
    7. g) Any other requirement by the Govt. departments….

    The Project shall consist of two stages:

    a)   Design and Tender stage:

    (including Bathymetric & Topographic surveying, Meteorological data collection, model studies and sub- soil investigation).

    • Inception and Master Plan of the Development
    • Finalize design criteria (Marine Works & Infrastructure)
    • Propose alternative layouts and finalize the layout
    • Obtaining preliminary approvals from the Environment and other agencies as per requirement.
    • Carry out preliminary designs of all components
    • Technical Evaluation
    • Project Costing
    • Economic Appraisal
    • Submission of Conceptual report.
    • Furnish Preliminary Design Report and Drawing
    • Furnish Detailed Design and Drawings of all components
    • Obtain Environmental Clearance
    • Obtain Final approvals from various Authorities
    • Furnish priced Bill of Quantities of all components of the Project
    • Furnish tender documents for construction (in various packages and volumes as per the approval of the client)
    • Provide tendering stage services including tender analysis and preparing contracts

     b)   Construction Supervision stage:

    • Supervise the execution of the works and undertake the management of the supervision staff including technical & financial aspects.
    • Provide full management support to supervising staff
    • Complete all the task, accounts etc. on completion of work.
